How do I order?
Pick vertical or horizontal, then pick a design. Send usable inside width and height in millimeters, plus your name and email.Width is glass to glass. Height is from the tank floor to the lowest obstacle that would hit the print — top plastic trim, a frame lip, a hood clip, or a brace — not the top of the glass. On many tanks that trim or clip sits lower than the glass. In Notes, write “exact size” or “6 mm smaller.” Exact size prints the numbers you send. 6 mm smaller takes 6 mm off the width and 6 mm off the height so it slides in with a little room. You can also add anything else we should know. That’s a request, not a purchase. When your job is up next, we email a quote. You pay then. After payment, we print it and email you when it ships. These designs are rectangles only. We don’t cut holes or match rounded corners.
How large can a print be?
500 mm × 300 mm is the maximum (about 19.7″ × 11.8″). We cannot print anything bigger.
How long can a print take?
Some backgrounds take up to 36 hours on the printer. That is print time only. It does not include the wait before we quote you, checks, reprints, or shipping.
What measurements do you need?
Usable inside width and usable inside height, in millimeters. Do not measure the outside of the tank.
- Width: glass to glass. Inside of the left pane to inside of the right pane.
- Height: from the floor of the tank up to the lowest thing the print has to clear — top plastic trim, frame lip, hood clip, or brace. Do not measure to the top of the glass if trim or a clip sits lower. A glass-height print often will not fit.
- Exact size — we print the numbers you send
- 6 mm smaller — we subtract 6 mm from the width and 6 mm from the height so it fits more easily
What if a print fails or doesn’t fit?
If it fails on the machine, we reprint it before it ships. If it doesn’t fit because the measurements were wrong, we need a new request and a new quote. Common mistake: measuring height to the top of the glass when trim or a clip is lower. Measure to that lowest point. If you chose exact size and the tank is tighter than expected, that is also a new quote. If you want clearance, choose 6 mm smaller.
How do they go in the tank?
They are bisected (two pieces) so they fit through the opening. Large neodymium magnets hold them to the glass. Magnets are included. Do not use these as a lid or a structural brace. Keep them off heat mats and do not leave the print submerged.
When do I pay?
Not when you submit the form. We send a quote when that request is near the front. You pay that quote if you still want the piece. If you don’t pay in the window we give you, we move to the next request. Production starts after payment clears.
Why isn’t there a delivery date?
There is one machine. Print time, reprints, and how many requests can all change. We don’t promise a start date or a ship date. You’ll get an email when the quote is ready and when the package has shipped.
What material is it? Can it get wet?
Prints are made in PETG, 25 mm thick.PETG holds up to humidity and normal terrarium warmth better than common PLA. At this thickness the background is rigid. We sell raw, unfinished prints only. We do not sand, seal, coat, or waterproof them. Any finish is up to you. They are not meant to stay submerged. Layer lines can let water in. Do not use a raw print as a tank wall, sump, or underwater structure. Keep it off hot spots. Do not put it against a heat mat, ceramic heater, or basking lamp. PETG can soften if it gets too hot.
Do you ship? Where?
Yes. United States only. Shipping is added to the quote for your address. We don’t ship outside the US.
Can I change the design or size after I request?
Yes, before you pay — including switching designs or switching between exact size and 6 mm smaller. Email us. After payment, a size or design change is a new quote.
I requested this a while ago and you emailed a quote. Do I have to buy?
No. A request does not lock you in. If you still want it, pay in the window on the quote. If not, ignore it or reply that you’re out. We’ll take the next person.
